Job #0401 Family Assistant / Nanny Holladay, UT

The Baby Hive is seeking a calm, patient, and proactive Family Assistant/ Nanny to care for three children in Holladay, Utah, starting April 1, 2025. The ideal candidate will have experience working with neurodiverse children and be able to foster a positive, engaging, and structured environment. The family values clear communication, setting boundaries, and encouraging independence while fostering creativity and learning. They enjoy a variety of outdoor and indoor activities, including hiking, camping, gardening, baking, and playing music. This is a long-term position with the opportunity to become a trusted member of the family.

    • Provide attentive care to three children (ages 3, 6, and 8), with a focus on promoting emotional and social development.

    • Follow daily routines, including school drop-offs/pick-ups, after-school activities, meals, naps, and playtime.

    • Use a positive, structured approach to help children follow rules, manage behaviors, and foster independence.

    • Engage children in fun and educational activities, particularly in areas such as music, art, and outdoor play.

    • Provide support to the neurodiverse child, using a compassionate, understanding, and adaptive approach to meet their needs.

    • Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as tidying play areas, doing laundry, washing dishes, organizing household items and grocery shopping..

    • Help with meal prep, focusing on healthy options, and encourage the children to participate in cooking or baking activities.

    • Communicate regularly with parents regarding children's routines, milestones, and any issues or concerns.

    • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for the children.

    • Non-smoker/vaper

    • Experience working with neurodiverse children, including those with ADHD, autism, or other developmental differences

    • Strong understanding of child development and behavioral strategies

    • Able to work 35-40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with 4-8 hours per day

    • Comfortable with a flexible schedule to accommodate the family’s needs

    • Ability to use a family car during working hours (if necessary)

    • Kind, calm, and patient demeanor, with an ability to be flexible and adapt to each child's needs

    • Reliable, organized, and responsible

    • Comfortable with light housekeeping tasks and willing to pitch in when needed

    • Ability to foster creativity through activities like baking, music, and gardening

    • No visible tattoos preferred

  • Compensation and Benefits:

    • per hour, based on experience

    • Cash allowance for child/household-related needs

    • Paid time off (PTO) after 90 days of employment

    • Mileage reimbursement for using personal vehicle during work hours

The Baby Hive is seeking a dedicated, organized, and proactive Family Assistant/Nanny to support a warm and active family in Salt Lake City. This role is a balance of childcare, household management, and meal preparation, requiring someone who can provide structured care, enforce boundaries with warmth, and maintain an efficient home environment.

  • Childcare Duties

    • Provide structured, engaging care for three active children

    • Enforce boundaries and household rules with a balanced approach

    • Assist with school drop-offs/pickups and activity transportation (must use own vehicle, mileage reimbursed)

    • Support homework completion and reading practice

    • Supervise routines, including hygiene, meals, and bedtime

    • Provide occasional overnight care for scheduled trips

    Household Duties

    • Meal preparation and cooking for the family (dinner focus, meal prep for the week)

    • Grocery shopping and household supply management (including Costco runs)

    • Household and children's laundry

    • General errands (returns, pickups, dry cleaning, etc.)

    • Maintaining household organization and tidiness

    • Receiving deliveries and handling home appointments as needed

    • 10+ years of professional experience in both childcare and household management

    • Passionate about cooking and skilled in preparing family meals

    • Confident, organized, and proactive—able to work independently and take initiative

    • Strong but warm—enforces rules while fostering a positive connection with children

    • Highly adaptable and dependable—able to adjust to a family’s schedule needs

    • Great communicator—clear, direct, and professional in all interactions

    • Physically active—comfortable keeping up with children’s activities and an active household

    • Non-smoker/vaper, fully vaccinated (Flu, Tdap required)

    • Start Date: ASAP

    • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours/week (8-hour shifts)

    • Compensation: $30-$40/hr (based on experience)

    • Benefits: Paid time off, paid major federal holidays, mileage reimbursement/gas card
